I was brainstorming on rebranding of Indus Net Technologies (INT.) with my mastermind partner Alkesh Agarwal in 2020.

Abbreviating Indus Net Technologies to INT was straight forward.

After reviewing hundreds of logo styles, we went with a very simple logo designed by Alkesh, as it summed up what INT stands for – trust, committment, and timeless. It looks simple, and took minutes to design, but was fueled by hundreds of hours that we invested in discussing INT, our values and aspirations.

When we came down to a one liner that defines us, we were trying to put a lot of verbs, and adjectives. But the more we discussed, the more we realised that our partners do business with us because of the certainty and commitment we bring in any project that we associate with. Simply put, “We deliver”.

But there was a small problem. For those who do not use us, might be confused – “deliver what?”. So we added #digitalsuccess

The learning from the experience was that:

– most things that we (or our clients) seek are simple

– delivering simple is not easy

– people unnecessarily complicate things to sound cool. but that’s temporary. simple is eternal.

This blog post by Jason Fried reminded me of the same, and hence this post.

Basics like creating a fundamentally strong business which can stand the test of time is a great “feature”, which often gets ignored in the glitz of the latest buzzword.

We do the simple. We do the difficult. It take decades to get there.
